Choir

BBMS Choir is known and loved for its high standard of excellence, family culture, and student’s dedication to music. Students that are a part of the BBMS Choir program perform at multiple concerts and competitions throughout the school year, including UIL Singing & Sight-Reading, All-Region, as well as around the community in local nursing homes and other venues in the DFW Area. BBMS Choir is comprised of 6 different ensembles and 2 extracurricular auditioned show choirs. Students are encouraged to be well rounded people and be involved around our campus. Leaders in BBMS Choir are leaders throughout the school.

Pathways

6^th Grade Treble: Comprised of 6^th grade treble singers of all experience levels, who enjoy singing and wish to develop singing and musical skills. No audition is required for this group. Students are expected to participate in ALL dress rehearsals, concerts, contests and performances throughout the school year.

6^th Grade Tenor: Comprised of 6^th grade tenor singers of all experience levels, who enjoy singing and wish to develop singing and musical skills. No audition is required for this group. Students are expected to participate in ALL dress rehearsals, concerts, contests and performances throughout the school year.

Concert Treble: Comprised of 7^th and 8^th grade Soprano and Alto singers of all experience levels, who enjoy singing and wish to develop musical skills in the hopes of continuing their musical education in the Varsity MS or high school choirs. No audition is required for these groups. Students are expected to participate in ALL dress rehearsals, concerts and performances throughout the school year.

Concert Tenor Bass: Comprised of 7^th and 8^th grade Tenor and Bass singers of all experience levels, who enjoy singing and wish to develop musical skills in the hopes of continuing their musical education in the Varsity MS or high school choirs. No audition is required for these groups. Students are expected to participate in ALL dress rehearsals, concerts and performances throughout the school year.

Varsity Treble: The Varsity Treble Choir is an auditioned choir of 7^th/8^th graders, is limited size, and is comprised of members who have developed sufficient musical skills and have previous choral/musical experience. These students are leaders in the BBMS Choir Program. They are expected to compete in TMEA Region Choir auditions, UIL Solo & Ensemble, UIL Concert/Sight-reading competitions, and any other outside performances.

Varsity Tenor Bass: The Varsity Tenor Bass Choir is an auditioned choir of 7^th/8^th graders, is limited size, and is comprised of members who have developed sufficient musical skills and have previous choral/musical experience. These students are leaders in the BBMS Choir Program. They are expected to compete in TMEA Region Choir auditions, UIL Solo & Ensemble, UIL Concert/Sight-reading competitions, and any other outside performances.

BBMS Harmonies: A show choir comprised of 7^th/8^th Grade Soprano and Alto singers established by Ms. Ramon in 2018 that performs around the community as well as the school. This is an extracurricular choir that rehearses strictly before and after school. They have performed at venues such as local nursing homes as well as in front of City Hall in Dallas in celebration of the Centennial of Women’s Right to Vote.

Student Organizations

The BBMS Choir Council is comprised of elected representatives from each BBMS Choir. The top three positions are held by 7^th/8^th Grade students elected by the entire Choir Program to serve as President, Vice-President and Secretary. Each class elects two social committee chairs and a class photographer. Student representatives meet once a month to help to plan social activities, emcee choir concerts, and design the annual choir t-shirt.
